The internet in simple terms is a network of the interlinked computer networking worldwide, which is accessible to the general public. These interconnected computers work by transmitting data through a special type of packet switching which is known as the IP or the internet protocol.

The Internet is a large group of computers that are connected to each other. The Internet is used to send information quickly between computers around the world. It has millions of smaller domestic, academic, business, and government networks and websites, which together carry many different kinds of information and services.
Internet is known as the network of all the other networks.
The use of IP in the Internet is the integral part of the network, as they provide the services of the internet, through different layers organization through the IP data packets. There are other protocols that are the sub-classes of the IP itself, like the TCP, and the HTTP.

World Wide Web (WWW) or (W3) • is the part of the Internet that contains websites and webpages. The World Wide Web is an information system of interlinked hypertext documents and other digital resources that are accessed through the Internet. It has become known simply as the Web.

Advantages

Information • Is probably the most advantage that Internet offers. The Internet contains billions of web pages created by people and companies from around the world, making it a limitless place to search ideas and information.
Entertainment • Is most popular reason why many people prefer to use the Internet. You can play games, watching movie, listening music, make conversation in a forum, chatting with people, upload and download files.
Services • Many services are now provided on the internet such as online banking, job seeking, hotel reservations, pay bills and taxes, purchasing items. You can send and receive money through internet.
E-Commerce • Is the concept used for any type of commercial maneuvering, or business deals that involves the transfer of information across the globe through internet. You can buy and sell item online or making promotional campaigns.
Social Network • It has evolved as a great medium to connect with millions of people with similar interests. Apart from finding long-lost friends, or meeting a special someone.
Disadvantages
Stolen Identity • If you use the Internet for online banking, social networking or other services, you may risk a theft to your personal information such as name, address, credit card number etc. People can access this information through unsecured connections or by planting software and then use your personal details for their benefit.
Virus Malware Spyware • Is nothing but a program which disrupts the normal functioning of your computer systems. Computers attached to internet are more prone to virus attacks and they can end up into crashing your data in your hard disk.
Pornography • This is perhaps the biggest threat related to your children's healthy mental life. A very serious issue concerning the Internet. There are thousands of pornographic sites on the Internet that can be easily found and can be a detrimental factor to letting children use the Internet.
