LIST OF CPU SUPPORT
••••••••••
Processor sockets use a pin grid array (PGA) where pins on the underside of the processor connect to holes in the processor socket. Your motherboard's socket must match the processor's socket number exactly in order for your processor to be connected in to your motherboard.

Find out what kind socket your motherboard has. Do a Google search or ask a computer technician if your current motherboard model supports a newer processor. Find out also if your motherboard is a 32-bit or a 64-bit one.

Intel and AMD have created a set of socket and slot designs for their processors. Each socket or slot is designed to support a different range of original and upgrade processors. List of CPU socket compatibility below in year of 2000 to present.
