WHAT IS GAMEPAD
••••••••••
A Gamepad or game controller is a peripheral device designed for computer or console gaming system. Gamepad is used for playing video games, including retro, arcade, or emulated games. Gamepad used to make action and movement by pressing up-down-left-right A-B-X-Y start-select and by Analog or Joystick.

A game controller is a device used with games or entertainment systems to provide input to a video game, typically to control an object, vehicle or character, in the game. A controller is usually connected to a game console or computer by means of a wire or cord, although, since the mid-2000s, wireless controllers have become widespread. Input devices that have been classified as game controllers include keyboards, mouse, gamepads and more.

The action buttons are colored with letters (A, B, X, Y). There is a start and a select option on the gamepad. On the left of the gamepad, there are arrows which the player uses to move in the video game.

Types of Video Game Controllers:

Gamepad • Also known as "classic controllers," these gamepads are handheld controllers with an omnidirectional control button or small joystick and several action buttons. These pads started out as rectangles, but have become much more ergonomic over the years. The Wii Classic Controller is an example of a gamepad.

Joystick • The joystick has been the principal flight control in the cockpit of many aircraft, particularly military fast jets, where centre stick or side-stick location may be employed. Joysticks are also used for controlling machines such as cranes, trucks, underwater unmanned vehicles and zero turning radius lawn mowers.

Steering Wheel • The steering wheel is a control made to resemble a steering wheel. It is either mounted to a game board or handheld with motion sensing capabilities. The steering wheel also includes action buttons of different types mounted on the front and sides of the wheel for additional game actions. Steering Wheel are used for controlling racing vehicles in games.

Gun Controller • The gun, also known as a Light Shooter, is designed to look like a toy gun with a cord that connects to the game console. Operation of this controller is much the same as a firearm. The player points the barrel at a target on the screen and pulls the trigger.

Motion Controller • The motion controller is a new type of game controller that first appeared in seventh generation consoles like the Nintendo Wii. This type of controller works with a motion-sensing bar placed on top of or in front of the television. The controller communicates wirelessly with the motion sensor and sends information about the player’s real-world movements through three-dimensional space.
